Tamale will make history tomorrow as the first city outside Accra to host the 6th March Independence Anniversary Parade and National celebration. The President of the Republic of Ghana and his entire cabinet, first and second families of the Republic will arrive in Tamale tomorrow to participate in this historic celebration.
Members of Parliament, CEOs of State Institutions, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Private Business Executives and citizens and non-citizens from all walks of lives have started arriving in our great branded and thoroughly cleaned city.
The Special Guest of Honour for the celebration is the President of Niger, H E, Mahamadou Issoufou.
By this hugely important decision by the President to celebrate our independence Anniversary in Tamale, our city is being tangibly introduced to the rest of the world. It has boosted the local economy as hotels, restaurants, local shops, chop bars, transportation and small businesses, etc are receiving huge patronage in the last 72 hours. TaMA is currently leading in the beautification of the city. Ghana flags are being hoisted across the city to demonstrate our oneness and patriotism. On behalf of the Chiefs and people of Tamale, I extend our appreciation to H E President NADAA for this important decision. We are excited about it. We can’t wait for it to happen and We remain very grateful to him and the Government of Ghana.
