We are committed to supporting the Citywide Sanitation Plan- CRS Head of Programming

The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) have committed itself to support the Tamale metropolitan assembly,  to mobilization resources to  help in the implementation of the Citywide Sanitation (CWIS) Plan.

The Head of Programming at CRS, Madam Caroline Raes noted that there is a funding gap which requires various initiatives to join forces to mobilize support from donors, to ensure the efficient implementation of the plan.

According to her, there are ways that individual and various households will be able to take up some of the cost in implementing the Sanitation Plan to help benefit the indigenes and the region at large.

This she noted the CRS is ever ready to playing proactive roles to help turn the citywide sanitation plan into reality.

She made this know during an interview with FiilaNews at the launch of a three year Citywide Sanitation Plan for the greater Tamale Area.

“As part of the CRS’s commitment, it aims at organizing dissemination workshop with key sector players to share the Citywide Sanitation Plan and solicit support for its operationalization” she added.

Mad. Caroline appealed to stakeholders to see the CWIS Plan as a product of co-development and contribute their quota to moving sanitation forward in the metropolis.

On his part the Mayor of Tamale expressed sincere gratitude to the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) for their unflinching support in promoting sanitation in the metropolis .

He added that the plan will serve as a guiding document for future investments in WASH  delivery within the metropolis.
