A Food Demonstrations training, was conducted by the Women in Agricultural Development (WIAD) a unit of the Department of Agriculture.
The training was fund by the Modernizing Agriculture in Ghana (MAG), to enhance the ability of farm families to utilize what they grow to prepare different dishes to feed their families, to reduce malnutrition and also serve as a platform for income generation.
The training was carried out for women groups; however, some men came around to witness and were very happy to know the kind of trainings their wives and daughters were receiving.
Seven food demonstrations were carried out in seven communities
Several dishes were prepared using soya beans, rice, fonio and OFSP. Different fruit juices were also prepared using assorted fruits. Participants were taking through the process of value addition as well as packaging and labelling
