
At a short ceremony held today, July 7, the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly (TaMA), through its Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, disbursed the 3rd Quarter Disability Fund (DACF) as support for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the Tamale Metropolis. The support forms part of sustained efforts to promote inclusive development and improve livelihoods.

The package is intended to enhance beneficiaries’ access to healthcare, education, vocational training, small-scale trading, and other income-generating activities, empowering them to become more self-reliant and economically resilient.

Addressing the beneficiary,the mayor of Tamale, Hon.Alhaji Adam Abubakari Takoro explained that this intervention is not a one-off initiative, nor will it be the last, adding that it forms part of the broader vision of the government of His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama and the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to ensure that vulnerable members of society receive the support they need to live with dignity and participate meaningfully in national development.

Hon.Alhaji Abu Takoro hinted, that in the coming days, the Assembly will further distribute essential livelihood items and working tools to selected beneficiaries to help strengthen their economic activities and ultimately improve the quality of life of the people.
