The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, giving effect to the Legislative Instrument (L.I) 2223, that establishes Sub-Metropolitan District Councils, on Monday 14th September, 2020 sworn into office Two Hundred and Forty-Five (245) members from the Forty-one (41) Electoral Areas in the Metropolis for a four year mandate.
The Metropolitan Assembly has Two Sub-Metro. District Councils. The Central Sub-metro. Located at Sabonjida, has Ninety (90) unit Committee Members and Seventeen (17) Assembly members who are all Elected. Whilst the South-Sub metro at Banvim has a Hundred and Fifteen-unit committee members and Twenty –three (23) Assembly members.
Swearing them into office, the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, admonished members to dispense their mandate with Integrity, Dedication and Candour, that will inure to the Supreme benefit of their constituents and the metropolis at large.
Hon. Members were taken through the Oath of Secrecy, the Official Oath, and the Oath of Allegiance.
To witness the occasion were, the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Musah Superior, The Hon. Presiding Member, the two Sub-Metropolitan Heads, the Media and other invited Dignatories.
