At a ceremony today organized by the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, the Mayor of Tamale, Hon Sule Salifu presented Freezers, Sewing Machines, Braille machines among other assorted items to persons with disabilities, PWDs in the metropolis.
The items valued thousands of Ghana cedis were procured out of the disability fund of the district Assembly common fund which items were distributed to the beneficiaries, numbering 36 to help improve their socio-economic conditions.
Presenting the items, the Mayor assured of the Nana Addo-led government’s continues effort at providing a lot more life-changing livelihood interventions for persons with disabilities. Hon. Sule admonished the beneficiary individuals to put the items in to good used thereby Creating sustainable livelihood activities to help themselves and their respective families.
Receiving the items, the chairperson for the PWDs, thank the Assembly under the able leadership of Hon Sule Salifu for the gesture. He expressed hope for a closer collaborations between their members and the Assembly for the mutual benefits.
