TaMA Supported To Address Furniture Deficit In Schools

To day at a short ceremony held in Tamale,the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly(TaMA) with support from its development partner,action-aid presented furniture totaling 1773 (both dual desk and table and chairs )to heads of selected public basic schools in the Metropolis. This according to the country Director of the partner organization, Mr John Nkow is expected to help ongoing efforts by the assembly and indeed Government to address the worrying issues of furniture deficit with the ultimate aim of improving significant positive learning outcomes.

Receiving the donation for and on behalf of the chiefs and people of the area and indeed management of the assembly , the Mayor ,Hon Sule Salifu acknowledged the enormous contributions of action-aid over the years which he described as phenomenal in addressing the relatively huge infrastructural gaps in our educational institutions particularly,public basic schools. Mayor Sule Salifu was therefore grateful to action-aid for the support.

He subsequently handed over the facility to the Regional Director of Education, Hajia Katumi Attah Natogmah and accordingly directed the GES directorate to supervise the distribution and subsequent transportation to the beneficiary schools.

In all, 24 schools including KG schools are earmarked for this intervention.
