The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly joined the rest of the country to observe the Independence Day celebration. The celebration, the 68th in the series was under the theme: ”Reflect, Review and Reset”.
This year’s celebration was unique in several way. Event characterizing the celebration included but not limited to performances and presentations by students and pupils drawn from selected public and private basic schools including SHS on the theme chosen for this year’s anniversary. Other activities included poetry recital , Drama, ‘pick and respond’ as well as cultural performances. The traditional match pass was missing.
The mayor of Tamale ,Hon.Alhaji Abu Takoro was in the company of the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John at the event.
Speaking on the theme, Hon Adolf called for concerted efforts at addressing our current difficulties as a country.
