The city authority of MΓΌnster,a German partner city to Tamale has donated assorted medical supplies, largely consumables to management of the Tamale West Hospital. The donation forms part of broader efforts of the city authority of MΓΌnster to deepen the cooperation agreement between Tamale West Hospital and the University Clinic in Germany in an ongoing sister city partnership between Tamale and Munster.
The items were presented yesterday ,23rd July,2025 at a brief ceremony held at the office of the mayor of Tamale , Hon.Alhaji Adam Abubakari Takoro.
Describing the donation as a symbolic gesture aimed at fostering strong and resilient partnership between the partner municipalities, the mayor of Tamale ,Hon. Alhaji Adam Abubakari Takoro, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the city authority of MΓΌnster for the gesture. This according to him is a manifestation of a firm belief and unwavering commitment to a more enduring partnership that is mutually beneficial to the people of the partner cities.
Hon. Abu Takoro,as he is affectionately called ,used the occasion to admonish the beneficiary facility to use it for its intended purpose which includes but not limited to promoting quality healthcare delivery.
Receiving the gesture , the medical superintendent for the west hospital , Dr. Ayuba thanked the mayor for choosing west hospital among many but competitive options available. Dr. Ayuba noted that the donation will help argument their stock and ultimately help improve facility readiness to deal with the increasing pressure and demand for quality Health care. He used the occasion to highlight the need for even more stronger collaboration in the face of dire need of health infrastructure and research opportunities.
Meanwhile,the city of MΓΌnster, in an earlier communication to the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly hinted plans to sustain existing efforts including exploring funding options and opportunities to expand study exchange program initiatives and visits. Such programs according to city officials of the partner municipalities offer platforms to learn from our respective experiences while leveraging expertise in areas of cooperation for the common good of the people of the partner cities.
