The Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Abu Takoro on his first day in office as MCE visited Kalariga, a community in the Tamale South Constituency of the Tamale Metropolis. This was a fact-finding mission in response to outcry and lamentation over the state of the Kalariga bridge described by many as only a death trap to say the least.
It would be recalled that the Assembly man for the area had times without number raised the issue on the floor of the august house highlighting the need for prompt attention before the imminent collapse.
Hon Mayor Abu Takoro was in the accompany of the Assembly Engineers to be conducted round the troubling spot.
Having seen the threat, Mayor Takoro directed the technical to conduct an immediate assessment on the facility and provide expertise to help fix it before rains set in.
