You would recall that the Hon. Abu Takoro-led administration has recently rolled out night cleaning exercise under an initiative dubbed: “action for a cleaner city”. The program targets largely the CBD in an ongoing activities aimed at improving sanitation in the capital and beyond.
As part of broader plan and strategies to sustain this novelty, personnel, numbering 62, made up of men and women have been recruited and deployed across the target areas to do the routine cleaning.
Meanwhile efforts are underway to build the capacity of the sanitation taskforce to deal with the obviously increasing burden of containment and evacuation of the quantum of waste the city generates on daily basis.
The latest intervention is Assembly’s procurement of two(2) tricycles, fully branded as special purpose vehicle to help in the refuse evacuation drive.
