The Lamashegu Market is set to undergo a major transformation. Work has since commenced on an ultra-modern market infrastructure under the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) module of public/Private partnership, PPP. The project is the initiative of the hardworking and visionary leadership of Mayor Alhaji Adam Abubakari Takoro.

Construction works officially commenced yesterday, 2nd October, 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the market’s history. Upon completion, the ultra-modern one-storey complex will be refurbished and equipped with improved ancillary facilities to enhance business activities and ultimately boost economic growth in the area.
