The Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Alhaji Adam Abubakari Takoro, has since commenced his electoral area engagement as part of his routine community engagement activities targeting all Communities in the metropolis. At Datoyili Electoral Area within the Tamale South Constituency,the mayor addressed hundreds of enthusiasts made up of chiefs ,religious leaders, youth groups,farmer groups and artisans among other groupings.
Speaking at the event, the mayor schooled the audience on the famous government flagship interventions including Nkoko nketinkiti and other agro input support policy initiative of His Excellency the Mahama-led Government. Hon.Takoro admonished the gathering to position themselves well enough to take advantage of the obviously game-changing interventions being rollledout by the government. The mayor also mentioned government’s determination and commitment to review the Free SHS program and make it a lot more inclusive to benefit the private schools.
Other communities covered include Adubil-yili, Datoyili, Cheshei, Fooshegu and Zuozugu.
The move also forms part of the Mayor’s broader effort to strengthen collaboration between the Assembly and residents of the metropolis. It provides an important opportunity for a face-to-face interaction with community members to better understand their concerns and development priorities, and to collectively work towards practical solutions to the key challenges facing the various communities.
Through these engagements, the Mayor seeks to get closer to the people, foster open dialogue, and ensure that government policy practice reflects the true needs and aspirations of citizenry.
The Mayor was in the company of some Assembly Members of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly,particularly the targeted electoral areas being led by the Presiding Member of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, Hon Okasha. Some party functionaries of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Tamale South Constituency were also present at those encounters. The Mayor expressed his appreciation for their support and commitment to the Assembly’s shared development agenda for the metropolis.
Similar engagements will continue in other electoral areas in the coming days, as the Assembly works together with communities to build a more inclusive, responsive, and progressive Tamale Metropolis
