The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly today held a send-off ceremony in honour of Alhaji Mohammed Rufai, our former Metropolitan Coordinating Director, who has proceeded on retirement.
Mr. Rufai served with diligence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to duty. Today was not only a moment of farewell but also a celebration of a remarkable career dedicated to public service and the development of the Tamale Metropolis.
Present at the ceremony were management and staff of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, heads of security agencies, civil servants, Honourable Assembly Members, and other distinguished personalities. A citation and an undisclosed sum of money were presented to him as a token of appreciation from the Assembly for his dedicated service.
Other retirees were also honoured, including the former Metropolitan Police Commander, Superintendent Awe in recognition of their dedicated service and contributions to the peace, security, and development of the metropolis.
This ceremony, the first of its kind, is the initiative of Mayor Abu Takoro who in his address on this occasion pledged his commitment to sustaining it, thereby institutionising it as a tradition in honour of dedicated service to the Assembly and the people of the Tamale Metropolis.
The Mayor,on behalf of the Assembly, extended his profound gratitude to all the retirees for their invaluable contributions and wished them a peaceful, fulfilling, and well-deserved retirement life.
