At a short ceremony yesterday, 4th June,2026 management of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly under the able leadership of the Mayor,Hon.Alhaji Abu Takoro handedover dual desks numbering 1,170 to the Tamale Metropolitan Directorate of the Ghana Education Service for onward distribution to 29 selected primary schools in the metropolis.
In his remarks, the Mayor noted that the intervention is only the first Phase of the Assembly’s outlined efforts and commitment to address the huge furniture deficit situation in our public basic schools,thereby creating conducive learning environments and enhancing educational outcomes in the beneficiary schools.
Receiving the support for and on behalf of the Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service as well as heads of beneficiary schools,Mr Nelson Konlan ,Tamale Metropolitan Director of Education, expressed gratitude to the mayor and indeed management for the intervention.
Mr Konlan admonished heads of beneficiary schools and their respective SMCs to take good care of the furniture and ensure proper maintenance protocols so as to guarantee durability and maximum benefits.
