Following his reposting to the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly in the North East Region, the outgoing Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Mr. Abdul-Rahaman B. Ahmed has since 23rd of February ,2021 handed over the official duties and responsibilities to his successor, Mr. Gilbert B. Nuuri-Teg.
At a short ceremony to bid him farewell, a citation was read in his honor in recognition of his contribution to giving impetus to the development efforts of the assembly aimed at improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the citizenry.
In a related development, another senior officer, Alhaji Inusah, was presented with a citation with very inspiring attributes. Alhaji Inusah was, until his elevation to the senior office of Northern Regional Economic planning outfit, the planning officer for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly.
Upon assumption of office, the new Director, Mr. Gilbert B.Nuuri-Teg embarked on series of familiarization tour. This move is invariably an important first step in building strong working relations with the workforce of the assembly. At separate meetings with core management and the rest of the staff, Mr.Nuuri-Teg admonished heads of department and units to have clearly defined work schedules for their subordinate staff so as to avoid bureaucratic conflicts, for example and also help guarantee effectiveness and efficiency. He reminded staff about the deliverables contained in the performance contract document and therefore urged them to be apt to the task of meeting set targets and objectives.
In his concluding remarks, the new Director impressed upon the staff to continue to observe religiously, all the covid 19 safety protocols, including wearing of nose mask, use of alcohol-based sanitizers, washing of hands regularly with soap and under running water etc.
