The Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Sule Salifu was today at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Tamale for the Friday congregation.
The visit was part of a planned tour of key mosques, which he began since the last few weeks.
Addressing the congregants after the prayer session, Mayor Sule used the rare occasion to thank leadership and indeed members of the mission for their support in the runup to his nomination and subsequent confirmation.
Hon. Sule shared his outlined development agenda, touching briefly on emerging but increasing crime rate in the metropolis and related security concerns; the dire need for a paradigm shift towards the advancement of education; issues of sanitation; improved lightning system along principal streets of Tamale, among other areas of development gaps.
The Mayor therefore appealed for support of the entire faith-based institutions and systems in order to pursue and realize the ultimate goal of making Tamale a happy place and better city to live.
He was later hosted by the leadership in a grandstyle. Spokesperson for the mission thanked the Mayor for the honor done them and pledged their support, both materially and spiritually towards such a good course.
