Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College today visited the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly on a regional environmental study tour.
Earlier, the leaders of the group called on the Mayor in his office ahead of the main engagement.
This year’s study tour is under the theme ” Traditional leadership and Local Governance systems : Optimizing progressive Coexistence and Socio-economic Development of Ghana”
The Mayor, Hon. Sule Salifu delivered his welcome address on this occasion during which he commended the Armed forces Command and Staff College for the wisdom behind the study tour and the platform created to share some insights relative to the chosen theme. In a PowerPoint presentation, the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Mr Gilbert B Nuuri-Teg focused on a number of thematic areas including background of the traditional authority; background of the local system of governance (Decentralization) ;as well as utility of having both systems at the local level.
