British High Commissioner Paid Courtesy Call On the Mayor of Tamale.

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Madam Harriet Thompson this afternoon called on the Mayor of Tamale, Hon Sule Salifu, in his office.
The visit formed part of her working tour of the Northern Region on a fact-finding mission regarding bilateral corporation between the two countries.
Her Excellency, Madam Harriet announced the British government’s plans to continue to explore other possible areas of corporations whilst deepening already existing ones for the mutual benefit of our respective countries.
She mentioned in particular, issues about increasing health infrastructure and improved health care delivery, increasing access to potable water, especially in the rural areas and deprived communities, improving border security and deepening democratization and good governance among other areas of our national lives.
Expressing his gratitude and those of the Chiefs and people of the metropolis, for the historic visit of the High Commissioner, the Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Sule Salifu acknowledged the enormous support of the British government in Ghana’s unwavering strive to meet the development needs of the citizenry in areas of improved access and quality education delivery, health care, water and sanitation among others. He however appealed for a lot more support to address the infrastructural gaps in our schools, citing limited or no furniture in the vast majority of the country’s public basic schools among other subsectors of the country’s socio-economic conditions.
