Management of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly today has held a scheduled meeting with members of the Northern Regional Secretariat, Tamale Chapter of the Ghana National Cargo Transport Association.
The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts of the Assembly to strengthen working relations and platforms to share challenges confronting the industry players in the metropolis, among other issues to reflect on.
Addressing the cargo drivers, the Mayor of Tamale, Mr Sule Salifu was happy to announce that, the Datooyili multipurpose state-of-the-art bus terminal facility had since been ready for use.
Among other things, Mayor Sule challenged the union members to come out with far-reaching proposals in support of his quest to put to use, the rather value for money edifice.
Listening to the Mayor, members shared their gratitude first of all for the visit and more importantly for what they described as good news.
They however, expressed a few implementing challenges and consequently proferred solutions aimed at giving full effect to the proposal for the relocation,which concerns were very much noted by management for further engagement even with sister unions.
Mayor Sule Salifu was in the company of the MCD, Mr Gilbert B Nuuri-Teg as well as Public Relations Officer of the Assembly, Amadu Mustapha Zakari among other officials of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly.
