
Hon. Alhaji Abu Takoro, mayor of Tamale today, at a brief ceremony had the honour of presenting over 200 metallic dual desks to selected schools within the Tamale Metropolis under the ‘Fit Facilities for Basic School Project’.
This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Net Organization for Youth Empowerment and Development (NOYED-Ghana) and our esteemed development partners, Woods PLC.

The mayor has on behalf of management of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and indeed the good people of Tamale, used the occasion to extend his heartfelt appreciation to these organizations for their timely and impactful intervention in support of education.

“As an Assembly, we remain firmly committed to working with partners to improve educational infrastructure, promote quality learning, and ensure that no child is left behind”, Mayor Takoro intimated.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiary schools, the headmistress of Burhania primary school applauded the Mayor for the intervention. She explained that the furniture deficit situation in our public basic schools hinders effective teaching and learning.

She was therefore optimistic that the intervention will undoubtedly promote teaching and learning outcomes.
Explaining the need for proper maintenance culture, the headmistress promised to take good care of the furniture infrastructure, including outlining routine maintenance protocols to help ensure maximum benefits and ultimately guarantee durability.
