Briefing the house on the sanitation outlook, the director of waste management department, Mr Martin Ahorlu ,mentioned quite a number of interventions including an initiative dubbed “night sanitation”. As the name suggests, this is normally done in the night from 9pm through to about 1pm just so the cleaning exercise doesn’t interfere the trade activities.

Still on sanitation, Mr Ahorlu spoke about the launch of national sanitation day programme, which sets aside the first Saturday of an ensuing month to clean our environment. This is expected to be community-driven with assembly to play only a facilitating role.
